over in the corner,

he boxes her in protectively.

sending out a clear territorial message,

she's mine, do not touch.

What right has he,

perhaps a contract of marriage ?

to draw up the lines of permission,

upon which she can speak out.

timid in the corner,

a Thai bride smiles sweetly

yet scared to even breath

because he will say a big no.

what fear has she,

for bowing here into submission.

a strangle hold about her throat,

from which she's no escape route.
