Freedom Cries.

Freedom Cries.
(16 April 1746)

A quiet hum,
Across Culloden Moor.
Sounds of men waiting,
Clans gathering to see victory.
The Duke came to steal,
And to enslave them all,
But these brave warriors,
Wouldn't yield to him or fall.

Prince Edward held,
His clansmen fought true.
None dared to believe lost,
The battle ahead at any cost.
And so these fifteen hundred or more,
Jacobite soldiers fell to the peat,
Alongside the English here at their feet,
And never uttered a sound of defeat...
