Jenny Wren

     Jenny Wren

You hovered, caring no doubt,
Trying to figure me perhaps,
Wonder what I’m all about?

I felt the breath caressing,
Something in your eager smiles,
A beauty of spirit, no false dressing.

It’s not the first time seeing,
The loveliest way of peacefulness,
I wink, you nod, as if agreeing.

Fluttering came and all I knew.
The searing of a mans desire,
To come to spend my time with you.

Had you felt the burning eye,
Been touched deep within somehow,
Unable to leave, not wanting to fly?

Able Robin loves his Jenny wren,
Comforted by her adoring smiles,
He will return, again, again,

                Once more again…..

The Crux

          The Crux

Streams of idle tears flow,
Some people who’d never known,
What pain holds, it won’t let go,
All the scars burning, ever on show.
Tested beyond the point of reason,
Too many tears for any season,
So much cruelty breeding treason,
Not love enough to bring a pleasing.
What am I, a fool for you,
A bag to punch and abuse anew?
On this day where hope is blue,
Left alone to rot, desolation true.
Sacrificed for what and for whom,
Since the light of love left the room,
Everything beautiful ended too soon,
Swept aside with lifes’ stiff broom.

Only the brave shall rest in peace,
But saints and sinners shall increase,
As if the hate knew not release,
And where a love would not appease.
Hanging in the sky so awfully dark,
None are the reasons that I hark,
Light will wane and desert the park,
And snuff the essence of a spark.
Cold and wet comes this evil rain,
Stabbed deep to increase my pain,
None the willing who’d yet refrain,
Tested beyond the call of duty again.
I note the reason to be content,
Never really knowing what this all meant,
Except that love, supposed heaven sent,
Came infrequently, before it up and went.

Could the eyes deceive me?

Could the eyes deceive me?

Soul hole, the windows
To see and believe,
Yet why do I feel,
They only mean to deceive?

Inside is the light,
Passion and desire alive,
Craving to get out of here,
But could love survive?

Mentally the eyes tell,
Something being true, real,
I only wish you’d be,
Perfectly rational, the real deal.

Glances of the kind,
Suggestions towards spending time,
Filling my empty longing,
Pretty, delicious, heart of mine.

Have you called before,
Did you twinkle my way,
Had it been deliberate,
The way your blue eyes play?

Rare and enticing beauty,
I have felt desire climb,
Could you flutter, tempt me,
Just one more precious time?

That really is a fu*%ing NO then?

That really is a fu*%ing NO then?

So who came from being adored,
To being kicked in the bollox
Floored, no more craved and wanted
Disregarded, I guess you’d become bored?
Light had filled up all the cracks,
The darkness fell away, my nick nacks
Wax, waned and fell to dust,
Love gone awry, and left to rust.
Fables, those romantic tales of old,
Saved me once, loneliness giving cold,
Sold, the dream of how better it
Could have been, strong the lie you told.
Sick to my stomach our love is dead,
I’d believed in truth all that you’d said,
For in my minds eye perfection came,
Carrying desire, echoing within your name.

I don’t, won’t, can’t yet understand,
I’d felt a oneness, holding your hand,
And when you came, again, again,
I’d surely understood loves demand.
Baby you’d fooled me, good and proper,
Now it seems love’s come a cropper,
The wind whistles a perfect silence,
And missing you feels like violence.
Had I  not invested the real macoy,
Had you not loved this pretty boy?
I guess you knew not what it be,
Have you any idea what you’d meant to me?
Sharing time and a hope for light,
Had kept us up throughout the night,
Talking all and nothing without a care,
Moving our hopes beyond loves’ despair.

Crashed this car, into a muddy ditch,
I’m understanding how life’s a f*£%ing bitch,
A wound has rent my heart in two,
Nothing left, not enough left to stitch.
Brought before the light of scrutiny,
It seems you’ve no idea how,
The ship ought to be sailed abroad,
To save it from falling into a mutiny.
Try to figure how your words appeared,
A chance to escape all I’d feared,
Live the life I’m born to live,
Not this crap, or anything this weird.
I’m just a boy, in front of the girl,
Asking her to be in my world,
Fighting to win a love that’s true,
I’d believed that love was held in you!!

Integrity of words and actions.

Integrity of words and actions.

Did you know, that
I’d need something to rely on,
As the syllables flooded forth
From your pretty lying face?
Words, feckless words,
Words are vanity and gossamer,
They hold only the place
Of a dream unfolding,
Until the light catches them out.
Did you forget integrity
To a sense of honour,
When you plied me with
Your beautiful intoxicating drug?
The brilliance of deception
Had everyone fooled,
Even yourself it seems,
Dishonouring the outcome of
Your chosen dreams.

Before I fell to the fire,
The words delivered here
Built me up, filling my soul,
Created more than just desire,
Lier, lier, pants on fire….!
Golden hair, an angel truly
Feeding me a line or two,
For the stretch of imagination,
Prior to the intimate ingratiation.
What point could you hope
To gain from not knowing?
Even your own feelings deserted
The shallows of the loyal light,
Oh holy love, what more must
Be done, is it worth a fight?
Cold is the day, empty the night,
When your words fled the scene,
Nothing ever will feel so right.

Actions that betray the law,
Of an integrity to be love,
Cannot ever enter the places,
To where smiles of hope are
Left upon mine and so many faces.
Cruelty is the essence here
Your eyes deceive me still,
And within, you won’t accept
The damage your words are doing,
The collapse of truest and truth
Find a home deep and binding,
As wide as any cruel ocean.
Say not things you cannot mean,
Or you should commit the crime,
Of inventing a lie, a lie,
Putting an end to my hope,
The way to feel alive again,
You were once my only dream…!

Waiting for that day.

Waiting for that day.

The train rolls onto the platform,
So much apprehension is here,
Five carriages back, waiting,
Hopeful, the lure of the dream,
A warmth, yet to be felt,
The hand of fate to be dealt.

There you were, dancing queen,
Not still, not at all serene,
A buzz of excitement rising,
The look of love in her eyes,
As my soul soars up above,
How wonderful, what a surprise!

Then into my life you came,
A beauty beyond words arrived,
Would I ever forget how you,
Seemed too beautiful to tame?
The passionate kiss of affection,
Pointed firmly in y new direction.

Those hands that held me close,
Were divine and heaven sent,
Surely you saw in my eyes,
What paradise had been delivered,
And just what my devotion meant,
When the heart of me was rent.

Thoughts of desire unbridled,
Filled my eyes and heart anew,
Wondering against all the odds,
If you would feel it too,
And fall to meet me rising,
And abandon everything less than blue.

Thighs and hips a rare delight,
Foretold of a passion coming,
To fill our days and our nights,
Bridled not by fear to dare,
And be cosy, in the warmest touch,
Of silk and cotton in underwear.

Then a surge to be alive,
How much more yearning now,
Could we take or even survive?
If love was to be the game,
Two playing, two learning, two hearts,
Would they ever be the same?

This could steal the air I breath,
Your smile took hold of me,
Lifted me into heaven again,
Where a southern angel I’d see,
Rampant and strong into the fire,
Shortness of breath, would I expire?

The proof of pudding is in the eating,
I feast on what is good to eat,
You’re deliciously sickly and so sweet.
And I’m consumed to find this treat,
Standing here as our eyes meet,
You’re something special, so hard to beat.

All she wanted was the dream.

All she wanted was the dream.

By day she wanted smiles,
For the night-times she begged,
A hand of love and friendship,
And the caress of skin on sheets.
All at once she awoke,
The day for dreams had come,
The arrival of her prince charming,
And oh how very charming, he.

Stood so close to destiny,
Her heart was turned to jelly,
The legs so firm and once supportive,
Quivered as he walked towards her.
Light shone all around her,
The beating pulse within her veins,
Threatened to make this girl explode,
And in those eyes she saw peace.

Long had been the journey,
Adventure had been the serendipity,
Love was flowing copiously around,
And her feet had definitely left the ground.
Moments passed in silence,
As time stood still before her,
Destiny had finally arrived today,
And now she failed to see divine.

The road had been long,
Trains and cars and angel messages,
Brought the girl before her fate,
And here stood, her perfect date.
Sounds ringing in her ears,
Reminded her of timeless dreams,
Voices carried on the proverbial breeze,
As the world became her friend.

But despite the presence,
Of space and time combining here,
The dream realised, felt somehow hollow,
No longer a road left to follow.
All the days and months,
The years of endless loneliness gone,
Still the girl could not be moved,
To find the joy that saved her soul.

Preparations were all complete,
To face the date with destiny,
But when he faced her honestly,
It was only her fear she’d find to see.
Though heaven answered prayers,
The reality was far too much to bear,
A fleeting hope for companionship,
And someone who’d always be there.

Love can be a comedy,
A two edged sword to wield,
Cutting through the veils of pretence,
No chance for sitting on lifes’ fence.
Now the girl denied,
What the universe had caused to be,
From the dreams she asked to hold,
That would allow her love to unfold.

Here the apocryphal tale,
Unfolded in front of her very eyes,
Yet all she would do was run away,
The chance for happiness destroyed.
In the cold light of day,
All those years of hope, of searching
Were over, and here stood her dream,
She’d not let her tears be seen…!

You’re my, One.

      You’re my, One.

Soul in the very heart,
You steal the breath of me,
In all of my life alone,
I know you come to set me free.

Sweetest dreams of passion,
Wrapped up in such perfect grace,
Abundance of the mystery here,
As I adore your smiling face.

Scented as the forest glade,
A meadow of flowers you bring,
Under this calm appearance see,
How a desire has made me sing.

Shout and raise me up,
You fill me higher and higher,
You’re even better than the real thing,
And you set my heart on fire.

Shinning like the morning sun,
I’m blinded by your open light,
I’ve fallen quicker than sense allows,
And I’m without the urge to fight.

Shivers rise along my spine,
The feelings for you become intense,
All I know is love has arrived,
No more time for sitting on the fence.

Surely you feel this too,
As we let our emotions run,
Is it really too hard to believe,
It is you, you’re my, one…!
