Now I Know
(Step-fathers' challenge)
It has taken me so long,
To come to know this truth.
But now I have the answer,
Some clues about the work.
It comes as no surprise,
That it can be a thankless task.
Putting on a face so brave,
When inside all is chaos.
It puts me in the picture,
Of how you had cared for me.
All of those times I shouted,
When all you did was for free.
It doesn't go unnoticed Dad,
What sacrifices you have made.
To love my Mother and us,
And provide when words of thanks were lost.
