Light in the Night
A curtain of radiant glare,
Fooled me to fight the fear.
My feet took me closer, very near,
And hope of flight became to dare.
Are those aliens' tiny webbed feet ?
My heart beating faster approaching with care.
That bravery of earlier now stripping bare,
Saying a foolish hello and with extraterrestrial beings meet.
Out on that hillside surrounded by light,
A boy became raised into his manhood.
Talking with oddness right where he stood,
Sometime later than dusk yet not quite midnight.
Encounters for a world about to crash,
Life on the brink of disaster man-made.
This boy/man looking at the errors all self made,
Falling now to the floor, lights gone a head bash.
