quiet hum,
Across
Culloden Moor.
Sounds
of men waiting,
Clans
gathering to see victory.
The
Duke came to steal,
And
to enslave them all,
But
these brave warriors,
Wouldn't
yield to him or fall.
Prince
Edward held,
His
clansmen fought true.
None
dared to believe lost,
The
battle ahead at any cost.
And
so these fifteen hundred or more,
Jacobite
soldiers fell to the peat,
Alongside
the English here at their feet,
And
never uttered a sound of defeat...
