Mouth
of the Tyne.
The
mouth of the Tyne,
So
gently swollen till now,
Carries
along the dreams of ours,
Stronger
than any earthly powers.
Her
currents flow in and out,
Settled
by a tidal ebbing flow,
Who
really knows where they go,
Or
how strongly winds shall blow?
But
here amidst the early dew,
I
sat and stared and thought of you,
And
how our love eternal blue,
Flowed
like the Tyne, I once knew.
And
as the sun fades for today,
I
remember the day you went away,
I
failed the love I had to say,
Or
share the Tyne mouth crystal bay.
The
mouth of the Tyne was all mine today.
