Red and Green
‘The girl from Melton Mowbray’
Pencil straight and homely,
You’re a sight welcomed here.
Flame red locks and azure eyes,
My spirit throws me a door.
Opening it may prove less,
Than impossible, I see the bands.
What gift I realise taken,
For one so surely a lucky man.
Within the bounds of decency,
I fight to deny my wanting.
But I know this passion well,
Creating challenges to aspire.
So in immortal fiction,
I reveal only the faintest clue.
For magic would be needed,
To share my life with you.
