Cosmic Dust

Cosmic Dust

For all the good it can do,
It is as unintelligible as grass,
I see it leaving only stain on ass,
 Foiling with a clever under-pass.
So why the passion for the word?
Inexplicable rhyme of bended fold.
Leaving half the story left untold.
And all my sons’ out in the cold.
What shakes,
What gives,
What renounces?
Before the lights of truth rush in,
I could only hope for ignorance,
Maybe this serves me well by chance,
As in the weird game of life we dance.
I hope for nothing more I fear,
Than filtered cosmic dust in hand.
Played loud from, the universal band,
My feet firmly on earth where I stand.

Glass half full

Glass half full

Here in the sleepy backwaters,
I am seeing folk who smile.
What a joy I may say,
To feel so welcomed, so at ease.

They have clearly lived forever,
My eyes receive this power.
Despite the mobility of age,
And the pain that gives ill.
I haven’t heard the moaning,
Of much younger whining kids.

It was different in their day,
What a pity we cannot know.
Because it helped to promote,
A self awareness long since lost.
But maybe, just possibly,
With a timely reflective gaze.
We shall all know how,
Their glass is always half full.

Those Sultry Eyes

Those Sultry Eyes

Yes, yes, of course,
We all have eyes to see.
But, and here is the catch,
Sometimes they sparkle, they live.
Take on a life of their own,
Smiling back at me.

Sultry, sweet, tender innocence,
Like they have no memory,
Of pain having been seen.
Romantically they draw out,
The spirits of desire running deep.

Could it be a dream,
Of mine, coming true today,
When they draw me in ?
My heart flutters before you,
And my eyes bulge, surveying,
All the beauty of you.

Probable Cause.

Probable Cause.

My longing, your suggestion.
And hey presto we’re in bed!
Could our needs be fed?

The day to day,
Monotony has gone unresolved.
So let’s screw away the pain,
Make love again and again….

Loving a stranger is how,
All fear is left behind.
Carries us onto being kind,
Brings our hope anew in mind,
Without the doubts, I think you’ll find.

So let us use probable cause,
To love and find hope today,
Encouragement from the words we say.
Being true to ourselves, find a way,
To lose all our doubts, the pain at bay,
Driving all monotonous fears away….

Work in Progress

Work in Progress

A battle for supremacy,
Comes undone in traffic chaos.
Cones, stop signs and diggers,
Lay dormant, killing time.
Work has not resumed,
Bob’s leg has healed,
Yet doctors’ orders deny.

So leave the desolation,
The high street ripped apart.
Forget the midday mayhem,
And focus on the good.
Little kids can kick, the
Sand about, pull cones over,
Fill up on laughter’s choir.

The gift of sight

The gift of sight

I see you forever gentle,
With matters of my loving you.
Could you hurt what heals you?
No more than I.

In the glory of morning breath,
My eyes have lived in heaven.
What more the gift of paradise,
That continually blesses me.

In damnation I shall lose,
The views of rich and pure light.
Watching from the gates of hades,
Would kill my will.

I therefore pray for forgiveness,
For I’ve continually coveted you.
The textures and the wholesomeness,
Of everything I see in you.

Maiden of Troy

Maiden of Troy

What has fate done?
It sends me here to you.
No other I feel enchanted by,
Yet you cannot, I believe,
Take freely my warranted desire.

Bloody typical as usual !
I fall for the one who’s taken.
That is to say, said ‘yes’,
To one other, such a lucky guy.
I wonder does he know this gift?

I would fret to know,
What are its’ plans for me?
Giving me tickets to the opera,
And then trapping me in the lobby,
Missing the grand finale.

Here within the devices,
I feel hidden nuggets of love.
Tempting, precious gems of worth.
Teasing me from shelters warmth,
And throwing me to the lions.

For surely I would be,
Ravaged, lost, unable to withstand.
And in your absence, cry out,
In pain, in grief, in misery,
When I had known an Empress,
Who could have been my lover.

And just as the ancient fable,
My hopes rely on much luck.
And also on the art of wisdom,
Though faltering is my resolve.

I would not see it coming,
Where calamity arrives by night.
But to be lost within your arms,
What reason would I then fight?

From my local

From my local

Yes I do know you,
And spy you from the aisles.
Why is my pulse racing,
Oh why do my knees buckle?

I’m almost dumbstruck,
Fumbling, stilted trying to smile.
Do you wonder my oddness,
As yours becomes so smooth?

Really I know very well,
Exactly who you are, could be.
But your name escapes me now,
As I reconcile with my doubts.

What is it about you,
About this brief chance encounter?
Causing me to smile within,
For you are such a temptation.

Your smile, no more than kindness,
As so surely you impart.
Yet here I’m hoping wildly,
That you would know my mind.

I’m never normally so lost,
But here before you now.
I can claim nothing of fear,
And my eyes covet the gold.

Sweet vision from my local,
I would let you see my eyes.
If I could leave desire within,
Building dreams without the lies.

Not that I’d be deceitful,
Of course you have my word.
But you’re not free, as am I,
To receive and share my life.
